Spode's pattern 1052 produced c1807; this Bute shape bone china Trio is decorated very simply with a rich gilt zig-zag border together with band & line gilding.

This trio would have been produced shortly after the Prince Regent's visit to Josiah Spode II's factory premises at Stoke-on-Trent in 1806 and I believe it is proclaiming 'look at me - I am the best bone china money can buy in Britain today'.

No other UK manufacturer was producing bone china of this quality & consistency during this period.

This Coffee Can is marked to its base with both 'SPODE' & '1052' in hand painted red enamel & was probably made c1812-15.
