Pattern 1090 Spode bone china Bute shape Coffee Can introduced at Spode c1807.  The origins of this design are probably Oriental, either Chinese or Japanese and this could be willow or wisteria flowers.  In England this design is often described as 'catkins'.  The ground colour was known at Spode as 'Queen's Brown' although it is actually a dark mauve colour similar to aubergine.
The gilt work sings out against the pure white bone china & the 'Queen's Brown' enamel.  You can see this same design on Spode's pattern 1084 (illustrated).

There are no manufacturer's or decorator's marks but there is an old collector's label.  This was an item from the Andrews Collection which was recently sold at auction, he & his wife were very keen Spode collectors for over 30 years.
