Pattern 1168 Spode bone china Dessert Plate in a design for the Prince of Wales & dating to c1807.  It is hand-painted in an all-over foliate Imari pattern using orange & cobalt blue enamels together with rich gilding.  This Spode pattern number 1168 was designed purely for the sole use of the Prince of Wales & it has the special Spode Prince of Wales feathers mark on its base.
The Prince of Wales had visited the Spode factory in Stoke-on-Trent the previous year and had ordered several services, this was probably one of them.  He had also conferred the title of 'Potter & English Porcelain manufacturer to His Royal Highness' on Josiah Spode II in 1806 following his visit.
This iron-red enamel printed backstamp which incorporates the Prince of Wales three feathers motif was introduced by Spode c1806-07 to celebrate this honour & it only appears on pieces made for the Prince of Wales.  This plate also has the pattern number '1168' written in red.
A Supper Set in this same pattern with the special Prince of Wales backstamp was part of the Copeland China Collection which was sold by Bonhams on 24th July 2013, at Trelissick House, Truro, Cornwall.  Lot 453 sold for £3,125 see it here:
