Pattern 1260 Spode bone china Bute shape Coffee Can decorated with under-glaze cobalt blue enamel, followed by iron red & charcoal enamels & rich gilding. I'm not sure if this design is Oriental in its origins, the gilding looks similar to previous 'Japans' but with perhaps a more Indian influence. It was introduced c1808.

All hand-painted & with such rich gilding, what a delight! Obviously another design for Spode's wealthiest customers.

This very pretty little Spode Coffee Can is absolutely the perfect size for my double expresso - what joy!

What a beauty! One of life's little luxuries.
