Pattern 1396 Spode bone china Bute shape Coffee Can decorated in 'all over leaf' or 'tiny gilt leaves' together with a soft, warm brown enamel with a darker brown line & gilding. A lovely & suitably coloured can for drinking my double espresso coffee; this pattern was introduced c1809.

A richly gilt Spode kinked handle, I love this little can

'All over leaf' was a popular pattern that had appeared in Spode's designs previously at Pattern numbers 531, 609, 908 & 909.

Slight wear to the gilding around the top rim but this is still a very pretty & desirable item
