Pattern 1875 Spode porcelain Dinner Plate with the rare 'Dolphin Embossed' border which can also be seen on pattern 1660 (illustrated) & hand-painted centre with a spray of Lily of the Valley flowers, this pattern was introduced c1812. This particular design had a range of Lily flower centres including Water Lilies, Madonna Lilies etc. As the border is rather elaborate the restricted colour scheme of the lily centres works very well.

The hand painted Lily of the Valley central decoration

The entwined dolphins & seashells.

Absolutely nothing on the base of this plate to indicate that it was made by the Spode factory c1812. It is quite unusual for a piece of Spode to be completely unmarked by this period.
