Pattern 2008 Spode bone china Bute shape Coffee Can decorated in another Imari design. This pattern was introduced at Spode c1813. The ground colour is a beautiful pale lavender blue which contrasts wonderfully with the orange & iron red enamels plus of course the rich scrolling gilt work. You will notice quite a few of Spode's designs of this period using this lovely pale lavender blue colour.

I'm afraid my dear you are starting to show your age!

Still lovely in candlelight of course

This was a popular design & Spode's decorators would reuse these designs with some variations. If you look at patterns 1823 & 1851 (both illustrated) you can see many similarities.

Just a couple of specks of kiln dust

This Spode coffee can has its pattern number '2008' & a decorator's mark in iron red enamel plus an old collector's label on its base.
