Pattern 2103 Spode bone china Sauce Tureen with cover & stand decorated with hand-painted exotic birds in a natural landscape together with sets of colourful feathers & white 'Flower Embossed' sprays.  This pattern was introduced by Spode c1814.
The design is in the style of 'Chelsea Birds' which the Chelsea porcelain company had made famous in Britain during the 18th century & it had originally arrived from the Meissen factory some years earlier.
You can see there is some wear to the gilding on this stand but it is still a lovely & colourful piece of early 19th century porcelain.
The Sauce Tureen has handles made to look like branches & leaves
Clean inside with just the usual few spots & specks.  The cover had a scooped & cut-out area for the matching ladle (missing).
The base is marked in iron-red enamel with 'SPODE' & its pattern number '2103'.
