Pattern 2214 Spode New Oval shape bone china Creamer. This is another very popular & vibrant Imari design which was introduced by Josiah Spode II c1814 but was continued for many decades and was still being produced by the Copeland company sixty years later.

This design has become known as the 'Banana Tree' pattern for obvious reason. It uses the usual Imari palette of colours; cobalt blue, orange, iron-red & lots of rich gilding.

Wow!

And wow again! What a lovely gilt Spode handle

Almost clean inside

Marked to its base with its pattern number '2214' & 'SPODE' in red enamel c1814.

I like to herd my Spode New Oval shape Creamers together; here are pattern numbers 1823, 2214 & 1409
