Pattern 2789 Spode bone china London shape Coffee Cup decorated with hand-painted floral sprays on the outside & a rich band of Imari inspired design at the top internal rim. This pattern was introduced at Spode c1818 & proved to be popular with Spode's customers.

Here is the usual Josiah Spode II gilding pattern down the handle.

The quality of Spode's porcelain shines out.

Spode's bone china is white & clean, the painting crisp & the gilding rich.

You can see why this was such a popular Spode design.

This Spode London shape Coffee Cup is marked to its base with 'SPODE' & its pattern number '2789' in red enamel together with a decorator's 'x'. Notice how sometimes the number '8' is written almost on its side during this period.
