Pattern 2814 Spode bone china London shape Trio decorated lavishly with pink roses and a rich cobalt blue & gilt border. This design was introduced c1818.
This particular cobalt blue & gilt border had been used by Spode on their pattern 1803 (illustrated) & had also been used earlier by Coalport on their famous Animal Service c1810 you can see an Icepail & matching Centrepiece Dish sold by Bonham's here:

Spode bone china c1818 looking very impressive

You can still see stray blobs of cobalt blue but the porcelain is beautifully white & generally blemish free, it is light & very translucent, the gilding is rich and the decoration is of a superior quality to most of Josiah Spode II's English competitors. Wedgwood didn't start producing bone china porcelain until c1812 & had given up by 1822, a situation which wasn't changed until several decades later.

It would be very tempting to drink your tea without milk just so that you could see the beautiful gold pattern on the inside of your cup.

All three pieces are marked to their bases with 'SPODE' & their pattern number '2814' in red enamel.
