Pattern 2885 Spode New Oval shape bone china Creamer introduced c1819. It has simple, colourful English flowers as a central band & below is another band of gentle mouse coloured enamel together with various different gilt borders including 'French Edge' & band.

The design origins of this creamer would appear to be English.

It's a pretty little thing

And it's in good condition for 200 years of age this year - Happy Birthday!

Almost clean inside but there is a porcelain split on its lip which doesn't go through to the other side & which would have happened in the kiln. It was gilded over and was considered good to go.

This piece does not appear to have any pattern number or decorator's marks but it does have an old collector's label. This was another piece of Spode collected by Derek & Yvonne Andrews who were very interested in Spode's ceramics & who collected them for over 30 years.

I like to herd my Spode New Oval shape Creamers together, here are patterns 1851, 893 & 2885
