Pattern 380 Spode bone china Bute shape Coffee Can produced by Josiah Spode II c1802.  The design uses many different coloured enamels and features hand-painted gilt sprigs, swags, seaweed & bands together with cornucopia filled with English roses.  The design has a look of the Italian renaissance about it.
Because so many different colours were used for its decoration it would have meant this can was fired in Spode's bottle ovens at least 4 or 5 times.
The usual Spode gilding down the handle
A pretty Spode Coffee Can with not too much wear, obviously its successive owners for the last 200+ years have treasured it.
