Pattern 643 Spode bone china Creamer of the Old Oval shape c1804. The Old Oval shape used for Spode's teaware was replaced by the New Oval shape c1805. Iron-red and black enamel are used for this bold, hand-painted design together with lavish gilding.

The quality of the beautifully white porcelain & the hand painted & gilded decoration real do shine out. Look at that handle, isn't it wonderful!

The little imperfection on the top rim of the creamer is a manufacturer's fault which was gilded over. What a fabulous object for pouring a little milk or cream

Not that bad for over 200 years old

A couple of specks that shouldn't be there but this is early days for bone china porcelain production at the Spode factory

The pattern number '643' is just there in gilt but is very faint
